DODGE CITY – Javier Alvarez, 64, died September 24, 2017 in Guadalajara, Mexico. He was born on October 7, 1952 in Atengo, Jalisco, Mexico to Trinidad Alvarez and Maria De La Luz Cardenas.

Javier grew up in Mexico and moved to the United States when he was 24 years old.  He operated a dump truck when he first came to the United States but always had dreams of opening his own restaurant.  Mr. Alvarez realized his dream in 1989 when he opened Casa Alvarez Restaurant in Dodge City.  His legacy still continues as his family owns and operates Casa Alvarez.
