Obituary

Cimarron - On July 11, 2025, the Lord called Jeff Jacob Bogner home. Jeff was born on July 8, 1975, to Tom and Sherry Bogner in Dodge City, Kansas. His love for farming began when he was young. He bought his first John Deere tractor at the age of 14 and rented his own ground to farm. He was a graduate of Cimarron High School, class of 1994, and attended Fort Hays State University. On March 22, 1997, he married the love of his life, Chandra Eskam, and the Lord blessed them with five children: Britney, Derek, Jarrett, Andrew, and Alyssa. The sign on his toolbox says it best: his greatest accomplishments were his marriage and children.

Jeff was a passionate member of the farming community. He was a Dodge City Co-op Board Member (now Pride Ag) and served on the Land O'Lakes Leadership Committee. His love for farm equipment led him to work for American Implement where he would get to see and deliver all the new toys.

His love for farming was only matched by his love for his family, friends, and strangers. His faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was passionate about spreading the love of Christ to everyone he met and went on multiple mission trips.  He also served as a deacon of First Christian Church of Dodge City. He personally baptized all five of his children.

Nobody was safe from his sense of humor. Everywhere he went, he made people laugh and feel welcome. He was a loving, caring, unselfish person who would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.

He is survived by his wife, Chandra; his children, Britney, Derek, Jarrett, Andrew, and Alyssa; his parents, Tom and Sherry Bogner; his sisters, Joanne Bogner and Jill Bogner; his nieces and nephews, Lane Lohmann, Mason Eskam, Morgan Eskam, Taegan Eskam, and Toren Eskam; and his in-laws, Alan and Jane Eskam, Chris and Shala Eskam, and Clint and Stacy Eskam. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilma and Orville Warkentin; grandparents, Albert and Esther Bogner; uncle, Joe Bogner.

Funeral service will be held at First Christian Church, Dodge City on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Dusty Cookson presiding. Burial will follow at Cimarron Cemetery. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from noon to 8:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.  Memorials are suggested to the Mission Fund at First Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
