Dodge City - Jerome Herrera died October 6, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.  He was born at Dodge City, Kansas the son of Casimiro and Carmen (Mendoza) Luera Herrera.

He worked at IBP in his early years and later went to work for Taco Tico and other restaurants in Dodge City. Mr. Herrera loved taking pictures, dancing, gardening, cooking, and listening to music in his spare time. He had a good sense of humor and loved telling stories about his plants and family.

He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.

He is survived by one brother Robert Herrera of Dodge City; three sisters Kathy Mitchell; Patti Claussen both of Garden City; and Angelina Herrera of Dodge City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday October 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Wesley Schawe presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at  Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, October 11, 2018  from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  Memorials are suggested to Jerome Herrera Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
