Montezuma – Jerry L. Miller 78, died July 17, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas. He was born on January 3, 1942 in Grassy, Missouri, the son of Courtland Claude and Vera Minnie (Newell) Miller.
Jerry spent his childhood in Grassy, Missouri. He attended and graduated from Woodland Hills High School in Marble Hill, Missouri. In 1963, he married Joyce Marilyn Cook. She preceded him in death. Jerry spent his life working in the automotive and truck parts industry. He also owned and operated several electronic and television businesses. In 1986, he moved to Garden City with his family. On August 16, 1991, Jerry married Sharlene Lynette Dirks. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2000. Jerry continued his successful life into retirement. He married Charly Packard in 2003 in Sublette. They made their home there until Charly's death on May 14, 2013. Jerry enjoyed music in his spare time. He loved his children, grandchildren, and living life to its fullest.
Jerry is survived by four children, Teresa Miller of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Gary Miller and wife Essie of Central Point, Oregon; Kevin Miller and wife Michelle of Garden City, and Jerry Miller, Jr. and wife Elisa of Garden City; a brother, C.D. Miller of Bonne Terre, Missouri; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by his parents and a sister Patricia Daily.
A private graveside service was held at Morningside Cemetery in Montezuma. There was no visitation as cremation has taken place. Swaim Funeral Chapel of Montezuma assisted with arrangements. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com .
