Jerry Wilmot, 66, died January 8, 2017 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born on December 11, 1950 in Garden City, the son of Jesse and Ida Mae (Oxford) Wilmot.

After high school, Jerry worked as a custodian at a school and while he received training as an auto mechanic. He worked at the Ford and Chevrolet dealerships in Garden City before moving to Missouri. While in Missouri, he worked at various places including working on oil rigs. Jerry returned to Garden City in 1997 to be near family.

Jerry is survived by a son, James Wilmot of Garden City. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Wilmot and Ida Mae (Oxford) Wilmot Davis.

Graveside service will be held at Haskell County Cemetery, Sublette on Thursday January 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ron Niday presiding. There will be no visitation.
