Dodge City - Jewell Mae (Elliott) Moots, 94, died September 20, 2023 at SunPorch of Dodge City.  She was born on May 13, 1929 at West Plains, Missouri the daughter of Roy and Carrie Mae (Clark) Elliott Moots.

Jewell married William H. Moots on December 4, 1947; he preceded her in death in January 2010.

Jewell was of the Christian Faith, and was also a member of the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary, a seamstress for the Theater Company, as well as an accomplished seamstress for many others throughout the years. She loved being in her garden and making it flourish, ever the green thumb. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends and being a homemaker. She also sold Avon for many years. Jewell leaves behind a legacy of stories.

She is survived by her daughter; Carrie Brock of Wichita; grandchildren; Carrie (Brian) Nuss of Jetmore, Jennifer (Troy) Wiens of Wichita, Heather (Mike) Phinney of Derby, Crystle (Charles) Logan of Dodge City; five great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; sister, Sue Boyd Guthrie of Lake Worth, Florida; brothers, Glen Moots of Hurdland, Missouri, and Leon Moots of Edina, Missouri; as well as several nieces and nephews, including Stephen Childers of Dodge City. Jewell was preceded in death by; daughter, Glenda Jewell Moots Sebes; mother and step father, Carrie and Raymond Moots; sister, Evelyn (Jeanie) Moots; brothers, Billy, Leonard, Donnie and Ira Moots; niece, Toni Sue Boyd Landis; sister-in-law, Donna Barnhill Moots; and her son-in-law, Richard Brock.
