Dodge City – Joan Elsie Stelle, 86, died June 24, 2017 at the home of her son in Dodge City after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born on October 3, 1930 at Dodge City, Kansas the daughter of Leonard and  Elsie (Wilkerson) Cohoon.

She married Curtis Carl Stelle on August 6, 1950 in Dodge City, he preceded her in death on March 3, 2011. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage. She worked at Montgomery Wards, Fidelity State Bank and McKinley Automotive.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City.

Survivors include one son Greg Stelle and wife Susie of Dodge City; one sister Colleen Cobb of Dodge City; two granddaughters; Kara Hutson  of Wichita and Megan Kleven of Ford and their spouses; six great grandchildren, Zane, Gemma, Ruth and Abe Hutson of Wichita and Autumn and Kurtis Kleven of Ford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, one sister Virginia Whitley and one brother Jack Cohoon.

Funeral service will be held at Grace Community Church on Wednesday June 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Pastors Kirk  Larson and Bryce Hutson presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. There will be no public visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
