Dodge City - John Taylor Hamilton, 85, died October 4, 2023 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home, Dodge City.  He was born on August 25, 1938 at Agenda, the son of Clyde and Evelyn (Moore) Hamilton.

John graduated from Dodge City High School. After high school, John served in the National Guard. He married Myrna Smith on June 20, 1958 in Blackwell, Oklahoma; she preceded him in death on June 17, 2017. John worked as an Electrician for the City of Dodge City.

John was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Dodge City.

He is survived by three daughters, Connie Leon and husband Jose, Laura Leon, and Alisa Leon and husband Marvin; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Evelyn Hamilton; and seven brothers.

Memorial service will be held at Bible Baptist Church in Dodge City on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Albert Shrock presiding.  There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at the Bucklin Cemetery.
