DODGE CITY - John Nicholas Rios, 18, died Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Dodge City. He was born on February 11, 1992 at Amarillo, Texas the son of Ruben and Patricia (Saucedo) Rios.

John grew up in Geneseo, Illinois and moved to Dodge City in 2004. He was currently a senior at Dodge City High School. John loved music and poetry and often wrote his own music and poems. He played the harmonica, gutiar, and drums.

He was a member of the First Christian Bilingual Church of Dodge City.

John is survived by his father, Ruben Rios of Dodge City; mother, Patricia Rios of Dodge City; two brothers, Ruben Thomas Rios and Roger Lee Rios both of Amarillo, Texas; three sisters, Krystal Nicole Galindo, Roxanne Lynn Saucedo-Rios, and Veronica Faye Rios all of Dodge City; Grandparents, Benino & Maria Rios of Hereford, Texas and Fransico & Rosa Saucedo of Hereford, Texas; Great grandmother, Bernadina Hernandez of Hereford, Texas.

Funeral service will be held at the First Christian Church on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Mr. Elou Rocha presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the John Nicholas Rios Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
