DODGE CITY – Jonathan Martin "Jonny" Mills, 28, died November 29, 2018 in Dodge City. He was born on January 16, 1990 in Dodge City, the son of Chris Mills and Veronica (Cervantes) Hefner.
Jonny was a lifetime resident of Dodge City, graduating from Dodge City High School in 2008. He continued his education at Dodge City Community College where he played baseball. After graduating from DCCC in 2011, Jonny then attended McPherson College where he continued playing baseball. In 2014, he graduated from McPherson with a Bachelor's Degree. Jonny returned to Dodge City in 2015 where he worked for Lewis Toyota for a year before starting at Building Solutions where he was an assistant superintendent.
On July 18, 2015, Jonny married Corrina Spence. He was a loving father, husband, and son. Jonny had an infectious personality and smile that would light up a room.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City.
Jonny is survived by his wife Corrina Mills of Dodge City; two daughters, Cadence and Jordan Mills of the home; son, Crew Mills, due to arrive December 10; father, Chris Mills of Dodge City; mother, Veronica Hefner and husband Scott of Dodge City; three brothers, Steven Mills of Dallas, Texas, Christian Mills of Manhattan, and Lucas Hefner of Dodge City; grandmother, Irma Arambula of Dodge City; aunt, Tavi Lowery and husband Matt of Dodge City; four uncles, Sam Cervantes of Dodge City, Ben Cervantes of Dodge City, Craig Mills of Dodge City, and Everett Mills and wife Jennifer of Kansas City, Kansas. He was preceded in death by grandparents, John E. Cervantes and Delbert and Norma Mills.
Funeral service will be held at First Christian Church, Dodge City, on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Pastors Dusty Cookson and Scott Tilley presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, on Monday, December 3, 2018 from Noon to 8:00 PM with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Jonathan Mills Memorial Fund in care of the Credit Union of Dodge City or Swaim Funeral Chapel.
