Dodge City - Jose Miguel Gomez, 34, died July 2, 2022 in Dodge City.  He was born on December 19, 1987 in Wichita, the son of Eleno and Flora (Rincones) Gomez.

Jose graduated from Dodge City High School in 2007. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan. He also loved to barbeque and spending time with family, especially his children. He enjoyed watching football and boxing. Jose loved telling jokes and listening to music.

Jose is survived by his children, Miguel Jr. Marquez-Gomez, Maribelle Marquez-Gomez, and Maxx Marquez-Gomez; father, Eleno Gomez of Durango, Mexico; siblings, Julia and husband Albino Marquez of Dodge City, Debbie Lopez of Dodge City, Lilly Tamayo and Julio Gomez of Liberal, Ray John Lara III of Garden City, and David Lara and wife Mary of Dodge City; 36 nieces and nephews and 31 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Flora Gomez; grandparents, Julian Gomez, Maria Lopez, Amelia Rincones, and Toby Roses; as well as six nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Friday July  8, 2022 at 2:00 PM.  Cremation will follow the service with a private family burial Valley View Cemetery in Garden City at a later date.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Friday July  8, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and then following the service until 5:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to the Jose Gomez Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
