Jose Hernandez-Gaytan, 53, died November 23, 2014 at Via Christi-St. Francis in Wichita. He was born on July 24, 1961 at San Luis Potosi, Mexico, the son of Calixto Hernandez-Coronado and Maria Gaytan-Ojeda.
On October 30, 2013, he married Martha Navarrete in Dodge City. She survivies. Jose worked at Cargill in Dodge City. He enjoyed playing with his kids, and spending time with family. Jose was a wonderful husband and father.
He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.
Jose is survived by his wife Martha of Dodge City, his parents, four children, and nine siblings.
Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will be at a later date in Mexico. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Jose Hernandez-Gaytan Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
