Dodge City - Jose Lopez Duran, 65, died November 2, 2021 at Kingman Community Hospital in Kingman, Kansas. He was born on September 8, 1956 at La Magdalena De Araceo Municipio de Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato Mexico the son of Abel and Maria de Jesus (Duran) Lopez Perez.
He married Celia Hernandez on December 31, 1978 in Mexico, she survives. Mr. Lopez loved gardening and spending time with his family. He worked very hard as a migrant worker in the fields in California. He enjoyed listening to music and watching television in his spare time.
He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
He is survived by his wife Celia of the home, two daughters Lucila and husband Antonio Mendoza of Dodge City; Celia and husband Carlos Marquirez of Santa Paula, California; six sons Jose Lopez and wife Yasmin of Kansas City, Kansas; Manuel Lopez and companion Rubicelia Mendoza of Santa Paula, California; Santiago Lopez and companion Juanita Ortiz of Kingman, Kansas; Alejandro Lopez of Dodge City; Luis Alberto Lopez and wife Sandra of California; Jorge Lopez and wife Liliana Mendoza of California as well as twenty one grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by two sisters Rubicelia Lopez of Mexico; Guadalupe Lopez of Dodge City and three brothers Jesus Lopez of Dodge City; Gonzalo Lopez of Dodge City and Manuel Lopez of Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Monday November 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Wesley Schawe presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from Noon until 5 P.M. Vigil service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, November 7, 2021at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
