IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jose Trinidad
Marquez Chavez
January 22, 1940 – August 11, 2025
Jose Trinidad Marquez Chavez, 85, passed away on August 11, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on January 22, 1940, in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Jose Trinidad Marquez and Dolores Chavez.
Trinidad was a devoted and hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for his family. He worked at IBP Beef Plant for more than 30 years, followed by several years at Tyson Packing Plant before retiring.
Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, whose laughter and presence brightened his days.
He had many passions, including singing, gardening, and working on cars—a skill in which he excelled. Known for his generosity, kindness, and thoughtfulness, Trinidad was always ready to lend a helping hand. He stayed closely connected to his family and friends through phone calls, visits, and acts of service. To his children, he was not only a father but truly the best dad.
A man of strong faith, Trinidad was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City, where he attended Mass regularly. He often encouraged others to turn to God, reminding them that the Lord is always with us.
Trinidad is survived by his children: Heriberto Marquez and wife Leticia; Juana Marquez; Roque Marquez; Veronica Marquez of Los Angeles, California; Imelda Marquez and Leticia Holguin of Wichita, Kansas; Erica Marquez; and Jose Trinidad Marquez II of Dodge City, Kansas. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rene Marquez; and his daughter, Loli Marquez.
