Dodge City – Jose Luis Quiñonez-Loera, 42, died January 11, 2022 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. He was born on March 31, 1979 in Juarez, Mexico, the son of Lorenzo Quiñonez and Nicolasa Loera-Salinas.
At the age of 5, he moved to Dodge City with his family where he attended school. Jose was a devoted father to his three children, Lluvia, Lilly, and Jose Luis, Jr. He enjoyed cookouts and picnics with family and going to the gym. He was always there to cheer up anyone who was down. Family was very important to Jose and he would happily help those in need.
Jose is survived by his children, Lluvia Quiñonez, Lilly Quiñonez, and Jose Luis Quiñonez, Jr. all of Dodge City; father, Lorenzo Quiñonez of Dodge City; mother, Nicolasa Loera-Salinas of Juarez, Mexico; a brother, Hector Quiñonez of Juarez, Mexico; two sisters, Sandra Quiñones of El Paso, Texas and Isela Quiñones of Arlington, Texas, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Rudin Din presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 3:00-5:00 PM. Vigil service will be at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe at 7:00 PM on Friday, January 14, 2022 Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.
