JOSE ROBERT "ROBY" GUILLEN

DODGE CITY - Jose Robert "Roby" Guillen, 62, died December 24, 2014 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on September 2, 1952 at Dodge City, the son of Joseph and Guadalupe (Moreno) Guillen.

On May 8, 1971 he married Dorothy Ramos at Dodge City. She preceded him in death on December 19, 1999. Roby was a welder for WW Manufacturing for 30 years. He also worked at C.R.E.W. and was currently employed at Crustbuster/Speed King. He enjoyed his faith and reading his bible, fishing with his grandchildren, and loved cooking & spending time with his family and loved ones. 'THE EASTSIDE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME."

He was a faithful member of the Bible Baptist Church of Dodge City.

Roby is survived by two sons, Jason Guillen and wife Tara of Dodge City and Jesse Guillen and wife Melanie of Dodge City; a daughter, Shelby Velasquez and husband Andres of Lawrence; two brothers, Tom Guillen of San Diego, California and Richard Guillen of Denver, Colorado; a sister, Anita Gonzales of Edgewood, New Mexico; and 14 grandchildren, Kylee, Bryant, Teryn, Andrew, Samuel, Melissa, Manuel, Roberto, Andrea, Angelica, Desmond, Londyn, Easton, and Eden. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jody Guillen.

Funeral service will be held at the Bible Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Albert Shrock presiding. Burial will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, December 29, 2014 from Noon to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Roby Guillen Memorial Fund. in care of the funeral home.
