Dodge City - Josefina Morales, 76, died December 25, 2014 at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was born on May 27, 1938 at Durango, Mexico the daughter of Doroteo and Piedad (Arumbula) .

She married Lorenzo Morales in 1954in Chihuahua, Mexico, he survives. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and knitting. Mrs. Morales was very active in numerous church activities. She started working in housekeeping at Trinity Hospital in Dodge City and later transferred to Western Plains Medical Complex when it was built.

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.

She is survived by her husband Lorenzo; four daughters Maria E.Cooper of Houston, Texas; Irma Ontiberos of Dodge City;Maria Socorro Ontiveros of Dodge City; Angelica Betancorurt of Dodge City; three sons Lorenzo Morales Jr. of Mexico; Gerardo Morales of Dodge City; Juan Morales of Houston, Texas as well as 23 grandchildren and 34 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by six sisters Elicia Gonzales, Lilia Rubalcava, Hilda Placencia, Irma Arumbula, Socorro Gomez, Coty Navarro and two brothers Roberto Arumbula and Francisco Arumbula.

She is preceded by her parents, two sisters and one brother.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow the Funeral Mass at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. There will be a Vigil service held on Thursday January 1, 2015 at 7:00 PM at the Cathedral Of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, January 1, 2015 from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in care of the funeral home.
