Joshua Dewayne Venard, 31, died February 26, 2011 at his residence in Dodge City. He was born on February 15, 1980 in Garden City, KS the son of Don and Cynthia L. (Webb) Venard.

As a youth, Joshua was involved in Boy Scouts and spent many summers in Colorado at Spanish Peaks Scout Ranch. He graduated from Dodge City High School in 1998. Joshua was currently a student at Dodge City Community College in the Fire Science and E.M.T. program. Joshua was a member of Boy Scout Troop #165 of Dodge City and the Order of the Arrow.

Joshua is survived by his fiance, Rachael Harper of Dodge City; one son, Kaden Venard of Dodge City; his parents, Don and Cindy Venard of Dodge City; three brothers, Eric Venard of Dodge City, Chris Venard of Garden City, and Cedric Venard of Dodge City; three sisters, Jackie Venard of Salina, Kathy Venard of Dodge City, and Megan Venard of Wichita; grandparents, Don and Katie Webb of Dodge City, and Lloyd Venard and Gladys Olson both of McPherson. Joshua was preceded in death by one grandmother, Gladys Venard; one brother, Jeremy Joe Venard; and one niece, Taylor Rayne Bonner.

Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lance Carrithers presiding. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers family suggests memorials to the Joshua Venard Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
