Joyce Scott, 63, died January 29, 2018 at the Minneola District Hospital.  She was born on June 10, 1954 in Garden City, the daughter of Eugene Dale and Gladys (Grant) Reece Sr.

Joyce was a long time resident of Dodge City.  She attended Dodge City High School, graduating in 1972.  On March 15, 1974, she married James Scott at the Church of Christ in Dodge City.  He survives.  Joyce spent many years babysitting for family and friends.  She enjoyed ceramics and scrapbooking.  Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a kind, caring, and thoughtful lady who will be missed by many.

She was a member of the Church of Christ of Dodge City, where she also taught the Sunday school class for two and three year olds for many years.

Joyce is survived by her husband, James of Dodge City; son, Joe Scott and wife Melanie of Dodge City; daughter, Jennifer Rodriguez and husband Vince of Minneola; two brothers, Eugene Dale Reece, Jr. of Manzanola, Colorado and Darrell Reece of Monte Vista, Colorado; and five grandchildren, Jordan Morrissey of Topeka, Reanna Braman of Minneola, Liam Scott of Dodge City, Caden Miller of Dodge City, and Rylan Scott of Dodge City.  She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Janice Rowland; and a grandson, Dylan Scott.

Funeral service will be held at the Church of Christ in Dodge City on Friday February 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Gary Bennett presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Thursday February 1, 2018 from noon to 8:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to the family of Joyce Scott in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
