Cimarron - Judy Moler, 71, passed away on September 13, 2011 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, after a long battle with lung disease and cancer.
She was born on August 19, 1940 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the daughter of George D. and Audrey E. (Whitmarsh) Bates. After moving to Kansas, Judy graduated from Lakin High school in 1958. On January 4, 1961 she married Sam Moler in Lakin. They resided in southwest Kansas, including Garden City, Sublette, and Cimarron. After moving to Cimarron in 1979, Judy owned and operated Resources Unlimited, a seller of computers and office supplies. Judy was lovingly known to her family as "Grandma Jubu".
Judy is survived by her husband Sam Moler of Cimarron; two sons, Kris and Kurt Moler, both of Cimarron; mother Audrey E. Harrison of Cimarron; stepdaughter Pam Goodwin of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three brothers, Keith Bates of Cimarron and Bob and Doug Bates, both of San Diego, California. She enjoyed the love of eight grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Cimarron on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor David Johnson presiding. There is no visitation as cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Transplant Living Centers, Inc. TLC, Inc. is an organization that supports the recovery and care of organ transplant recipients. This fund has been chosen as Judy was the recipient of a lung transplant in 2005. Donations should be sent in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1057, Cimarron, Kansas 67835.
