INGALLS - Julie E. Harmon, 52, died November 11, 2021 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. She was born on April 21, 1969 at Garden City, the daughter of Gilbert Hamilton and Elaine (McFall) Heiland.
Julie grew up in Garden City and was a 1987 graduate of Garden City High School. She then attended Garden City Community College. Julie worked for Production Credit in Garden City before moving to Dodge City where she worked for Dr. Trotter and DCCC upward bound program. She later worked at the Fowler Grade School, Rebein- Bangerter PA and Heydman Law, LLC. In 2013 she went to work for Miracle Ear of Southwest Kansas where she was a general manager. On July 24, 2014 she married Tom Harmon in Dodge City.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dodge City and Miracle Ear Foundation.
Julie is survived by her husband, Tom Harmon of Ingalls; four children, Cory Collige and wife Natalie of Ord, Nebraska, Cody Collige and Brittney of Ensign, Braden Harmon of Garden City, and Jordan Harmon of Grand Island, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Eden, Easton, Emilia, and Laura; father, Gilbert Hamilton of Ingalls; mother, Elaine Heiland and husband Marvin of Windthorst, and six siblings, Kevin Hamilton of Ingalls, Michael Hamilton of Pocatello, Idaho, April Wooters of Elk City, Oklahoma, Tereasa Siebert of Hillsboro, Stephanie Hirsh of Kinsley, and Michael Heiland of Minneola; and three step-siblings, David Simmons of Cimarron, Ed Simmons of Kermit, Texas, and Roger Simmons of Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was preceded in death by a grandmother, Waneta Dimmitt and step-mother, Betty Hamilton.
Celebration of Life will be held at the First Baptist Church on Wednesday November 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Steve Ormord presiding. There will be a book signing from Noon to 5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Swaim Funeral Chapel.
