Obituary

DODGE CITY - Jullian Raul Galindo, 19, passed away November 14, 2020 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri, after a long and hard fought battle while awaiting a double lung transplant.  He was born on May 31, 2001 at Hutchinson, the son of J.R. and Alexandrea (Otero) Martinez.

Jullian was raised in Dodge City and was a 2019 graduate of Dodge City High School. He was currently attending Ft. Hays State University where he was working on a nursing degree. His true passion was to become a social worker so he could help children in need. Jullian grew up playing sports and loved baseball, wrestling, and football. In high school he focused and excelled in wrestling where he wrestled for Dodge City High School and Dodge City Wrestling Academy. He enjoyed spending time with his family and being outdoors especially paddle boarding in Colorado.

He was a member of the Dodge City Wrestling Academy

Jullian is survived by his parents, J.R. and Alex Martinez of Dodge City; three siblings, Marcelino Otero, Uvia Martinez, and Karmello Martinez all of Dodge City; grandparents, Alvina Cruz-Rivera and Oscar of Dodge City, James Otero of New Jersey, Jerry and Elvira Martinez of Dodge City; and great grandparents, Margaret and Tony Otero of Garden City; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and last but not least his special four legged friend Zoe. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, George and Dominga Cruz and Leo and Aurora Martinez.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Jeff Hiers presiding. Family and friends are invited to watch the live stream via Swaim Funeral Chapel's Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/swaimfuneralchapel/ . Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from Noon to 8:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to Jullian Galindo Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
