WICHITA - Karla Kaye Housman, 50, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Harry Hynes Hospice, Via Christi, Wichita, Kansas.
She was born on July 4, 1960 at Dodge City, Kansas the daughter of Ivan and Venetta (Flowers) Wilson. Karla graduated from Cimarron High School in 1978. On September 1, 1979 she married Rick Housman. They later divorced.
Karla is survived by her three sons, Joshua Housman of Oklahoma, Justin Housman, Garden City, Sterlin Broomfield, Wichita; Her parents Ivan and Jody Wilson, Cimarron; a brother Kent and Shirley Wilson, Marion, Iowa; a sister Krista and Jeff Monical, Cimarron; stepbrothers Aaron Flake, Cimarron, Alex andTracy Flake, Wichita, Anson and Katie Flake, Enola, Pennsylvania; her step grandmother Hazel Flowers, Cimarron; and her companion, Alvin Broomfield, Wichita. She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Cimarron Cemetery with Rev. Larry Danforth presiding. In case of inclement weather the services will be held at the fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church, Cimarron. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Karla Housman Memorial Fund which has been established at the Cimarron State Bank, P.O. Box 228, Cimarron, Kansas 67835.
