Obituary

Kathleen H. (Schawe)Lenz Stout, 71, died Friday, September 3, 2010 at NW Medical Center-Springdale in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born on September 6, 1938 in Spearville, the daughter of John and Adella (Schaffer) Schawe.

Kathleen grew up on the family farm in Belefont. She attended school in Spearville and graduated from Spearville High School in 1956. After graduation, she moved to Dodge City to work at St. Anthony's Hospital. On June 20, 1957, Kathleen married Bill Lenz in Spearville. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1987. She married Cecil Israel, Jr. on September 10, 1988. Kathleen later married Greg Stout on June 7, 2003 in Bentonville, Arkansas. He survives. She worked in retail sales and in clerical positions for various businesses in Dodge City and in Bentonville, Arkansas. Kathleen enjoyed embroidery, making quilts, caring for her flower gardens, watching her grandchildren and great granddaughter, and following the Dodge City High School Bowling Team.

In addition to her husband Greg, Kathleen in survived by one son, Duane Lenz and wife Darlene of Lafayette, Colorado; three daughters, Brenda Jensen of Dodge City, Terri Woods and husband Rodney of Dodge City, and Phyliss Forbes and husband Terry of Wichita; one step son, Michael Stout of Kansas City, Missouri; one step daughter, Sandra Chard and husband Dennis of Bentonville, Arkansas; three sisters in law, Karmen Schawe of Wichita, Bonnie Million and husband Laverne of Dodge City, and Mildred Unruh and husband Galen of Colorado City, Colorado;an aunt Adelaide Pendergast of Dodge City and six grandchildren, Greg Lenz, Nick Lenz, Derek Jensen and wife Natalie, Blaise Jensen, Tyler Woods, and Dylan Woods; six step grandchildren; and one great granddaughter, Camryn Lenz. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Lenz; one son, Rodney Lenz; two brothers Paul and Virgil Schawe; and three sisters, Evangeline Rueb, Waneta McGee; and Norma Lee Walter

Vigil service will be held at the Cathedral Of Our Lady Of Guadalupe in Dodge City on Monday, September 6, 2010 at 6:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral Of Our Lady Of Guadalupe on Tuesday September 7, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Ted Skalsky presiding. Burial will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Monday, September 6, 2010 from noon to 5:00 PM. Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
