Dodge City - Kenneth E. Erickson, born to Erma Miller Erickson on June 27, 1939, in Kinsley, KS died on March 7, 2021. He married Jerry Zink Cook on August 23, 1986, she survives.
Kenny was proud to be a great welder. He quit welding so he could take over the farming for Jerry. He said farming was the easiest job he had in his whole life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and introducing his wife to deer hunting which they enjoyed doing together with rifles and cameras.
Kenny was a member of the Ford County Sportsman's Club and was president for quite a few years. He also belonged to the Kansas Wildlife Federation and served as SW KS area rep for a term.
Kenny is survived by stepchildren, Dr. Steven Cook and wife, Stephanie; and Diana Cook Stinnett and husband, Chris. He is also survived by grandchildren; Kasie Parton and husband, Stephen, Josh Cook, Miranda Cook Owen and husband, Patrick, Ryan Cook, Nick Price and wife, Leslie, and 4 great grandchildren; Izzy, Daimein, Emma, and Jade. He is also survived by nieces, Deborah and Barbara and a nephew, Tripp Erickson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Edward Eugene Erickson and Toodles Erickson.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 12, 2021 at Swaim Funeral Chapel. Visitation will take place from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Swaim Funeral Chapel with the family present from 6 pm to 8 pm. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Kinsley.
