KENNETH LEROY KOENKE
Dodge City - Kenneth Leroy Koenke, 85, died July 24, 2014 at his residence in Dodge City. He was born on November 7, 1928 at Peckham, OK the son of Clarence William and Evelyn Anna (Leasman) Koenke.
He married Frances Marie Pierce on September 21, 1947 in Arkansas City. He was owner/operator of Coake Feeding Company and very involved in the cattle industry and farming until his retirement. He loved working along with spending time with his family and grandchildren. Kenneth enjoyed his mornings with his coffee and breakfast friends.
He was a member of the Crestent Lodge #113 AF & AM of Arkansas City.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Frances Marie Koenke of Dodge City; one daughter, Marsha Marks and husband John of West Valley City, UT; one son, Richard Koenke and wife Stephanie of Dodge City; two brothers, Carol Koenke of Forks, WA and Claude Koenke of Pawhuska, OK; two sisters, Kathleen Rozell and husband Clifford of Derby and Tootie Hodges of Pittsburg; one cousin, Bob Sallee and wife Ruby of Coffeyville; seven grandchildren, Kevin Koenke and wife Rebecca of Payton, CO, Kyle Koenke and wife Jona of Chandler, AZ, Kelly Koenke and wife Imelda of Hays, Josh Marks and wife Angela of Salt Lake City, UT, Megan Marks of Salt Lake City, UT, John J. Marks and wife Terri of Salt Lake City, UT, Amanda Schlinder and husband Mark of Salt Lake City, UT; 17 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren.He was preceded in death by one sister, Colleen Goulden.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Gerald Mindenhall presiding. Private burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 12:00 - 6:00 P.M.. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Prairie in care of the funeral home.
