Dodge City - Kenneth Ray Rogers, 76, died September 16, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital, Wichita. He was born on February 24, 1945 at Scott City, the son of Burl J. and Fern (Strobridge) Rogers.
Kenneth grew up and attended schools in Leoti. He was a homebuilder in Bartlesville and Tulsa, Oklahoma prior to his police career. Ken began his career as a police officer in Wichita for one year before moving to Dodge City and joining the Dodge City Police Department in August of 1969. He served for over 30 years with the Dodge City Police Department retiring as Deputy Chief. Ken also owned property in Colorado and enjoyed going out to his land and searching for Gold. He married Barbara Kincheloe in 1970 at Dodge City, she preceded him in death on May 30, 2018.
Kenneth is survived by a daughter, Laci Blazek of Dodge City, five sons, Bill Adams and wife Chris of Bucklin, Terry Adams and wife Carla of Dodge City, Tim Adams and wife Trudi of Lubbock, Texas, Larry Adams and wife Martha of Wilroads Garden, Randy Adams and wife Cindy of Spur, Texas, a brother, Rick Rogers of Ogallala, Nebraska, two sisters, Stella Hutton of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and LaVerne Pearson-Matney of Garden City, 28 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Corina Rogers; a son, Gary Adams; and two brothers, Leland and Ronald Rogers.
Graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Monday September 20, 2021 from Noon to 8:00 PM.
