DODGE CITY- Kenneth Roy Cupples, 61, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at his home in Dodge City, KS. He was born on September 7, 1947 at Winnsboro, Louisiana, the son of Landis R. and Doris (Crooks) Cupples.
Mr. Cupples served in Vietnam as an Air Force mechanic and was stationed in Wichita, Kansas. While there, he married Janet Larimore, and a son was born. Ken was a meat cutter for Safeway foods for over twenty years. Ken moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1986 with his family, where he worked for Farmland Foods as a sales director for new products. He continued in the food and grocery industry until retirement in 1996. Ken moved to Dodge City in 2007.
Survivors include one son, Keith Cupples of Raymore, Missouri; one brother, Ronnie Cupples of Monroe, Louisiana; two sisters, Joanne Kennedy of Monroe, Louisiana; and Landa Thompson, Texarkana, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private inurnment services will be at a later time at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, is in charge of arrangements. Personal Condolences may be left at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
