Obituary

MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, MAY 23, 2025 AT 2:00 PM AT THE DODGE CITY CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE. INURNMENT WILL FOLLOW AT THE FORD CEMETERY.

Dodge City - Kenneth Wesley Snook, 85 passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, at his home. Born July10, 1939 in Manitou Springs, CO to Maynard and Iva Snook, brother to Shirley, Larry and Marilee. Ken was a beloved husband, father, Papa, businessman and active in his community.

Ken graduated from Ford High School in 1957, where he was active in sports playing basketball, football and track. He furthered his education at Dodge City Community College where he played football. Ken then went on to Emporia State where he graduated with a degree in mathematics and a championship in pitch.

A few years later Ken met Barbara and Debra, he married Barbara April 3, 1965. Together they had Troy and the family was complete. Troy married Brandee Newman in 1999 and that union made Ken the proud Papa of Rowdy and Colter. Ken was a businessman in the Ag community around Ford County for over fifty years. After retirement Ken was elected as a Ford County Commissioner, a position he was immensely proud to hold. Ken and Barbara enjoyed trips to Arizona, he was an avid golfer and a member of The Liars Coffee Club.

He was preceded in death by his parent's one brother Larry Snook and two sisters Shirley Riegel and Marilee Williams.

Memorial service will be held at Dodge City Church of the Nazarene on Friday May 23, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Inurnment will follow at Ford Cemetery in Ford. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Prairie or Young Guns Rodeo Scholarship in care of the funeral home.
