Dodge City - Kirt L. Baird, 55, died July 17, 2018 at his home in Dodge City.  He was born on April 30, 1963 at Dodge City, the son of Thurman and Arlene (Stegman) Baird.

Kirt loved his family, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter Justyce. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as working on and restoring cars. Kirt was a people person and he never met a stranger. He enjoyed helping others as well as teasing his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his mother, Arlene Baird of Dodge City; brother Danny Baird and wife Joli of Dodge City; daughter Justyce Baird of Dodge City; two uncles, Vernon Baird of Golden, Colorado, and Gerald Stegman of Dodge City; an aunt, Darlene Elias of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three nieces, Jessica Baird of Dodge City, Ashley Dexter and husband Ryan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Alexandra Adams of Lawrence; one nephew, Eric Baird of Dodge City; and six great nieces and nephews, Jerrick, Dannika, Priest, Emerie, Drayton, and Serik. Kirt was preceded in death by his father, Thurman Baird; brother, Leon Baird; sister, Jeanette Adams; and niece, Lyndsie Baird.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Kirk Larson presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City on Thursday July 19, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary held at 7:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
