IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lana Sharron
Ross
June 15, 1943 – November 8, 2024
Lana Sharron Ross, 81, went to be with Jesus on November 8th, 2024. She was born on June 15, 1943 to Jack and Virginia (Graham) Steinmitz in Parsons, KS.
She moved to Dodge City at a young age, attended schools and later graduated from Dodge City Senior High in 1961. She received her degree in Cosmetology from Dodge City Community College and worked in Dodge City as a beauty operator. She was a founding member of Grace Community Church, Dodge City and delighted in serving in any capacity needed. Her backyard was her sanctuary where she fed 'her' birds and anticipated their needs with each season and migration. Gardening was her passion and she proudly became a Master Gardener through the Kansas State University extension program. She was always happy to share her green thumb knowledge with others and people were always welcome to visit her yard. She enjoyed cross-stitching, ceramics, creating floral displays and making things beautiful. Lana was great in the kitchen and known especially for her sugar cookies, chocolate inch cake and peach cobbler. She was tender hearted, ornery, generous and could always be counted on as a devoted friend. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She would carry around photos of grandkids and proudly displayed any and all pictures and momentos.
She is survived by one son Tyler Ross, wife Katie and grandsons AJ and Adam of Dodge City. One daughter, Sara Ross Kimbrel and grandchildren Scarlet, Poppy and Jack of Dodge City. Sisters Jorgie Dreiling, Hays, Janis Anderson, Larned and beloved Niece Faith Lochmann of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Julie and brother, John.
