DODGE CITY
Larry D. Gobin, 67, died Saturday, April 24, 2010 at his residence at Dodge City. He was born on June 4, 1942 at Minneola, the son of Gareth P. and Juanita (Nelson) Gobin. Larry grew up in Dodge City and attended schools here. He worked for Tennison Brothers Sheet Metal Company of Wichita for several years as a salesman. He later worked at Loves Country Store of Dodge City for many years.
Survivors include two sons Lonnie Gobin and wife Tammy of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Gary Gobin of Dodge City; a daughter Laura Rodriguez and husband Alfonso of Dodge City; a brother Dwayne Gobin and wife Vivian of Hutchinson; a sister Wanda Blackburn of Dodge City; four half brothers, Gary Ray Gobin, Craig Gobin, Perry Gobin and Allan Gobin all of Oklahoma; two half sisters, Garilene Castleberry and Judy Powers both of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Jessica Gobin, Ashley Donovan & husband Jesse, William Gobin, Enrique Gobin and wife Daisy, Lorenzo Gobin, Mary Gobin and Teresa Rodriguez; three great granddaughters, Izabelle Gobin, Hailee Helmick and Brylee Helmick; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Darrell Mack Gobin and Gary Dean Gobin and a sister, Donna Lee Hamilton.
Graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Marvin Dean Nelson and Rev. Dwayne L. Gobin, Jr. presiding. . Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, April 26, 2010 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday April 27, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Memorials can be made to Larry D.
