LAWRENCE EDWARD "L.E." MCDONALD

Dodge City - Lawrence Edward "L.E." McDonald, 85, died September 15, 2012 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. He was born on January 12, 1927 at Summerfield, Oklahoma the son of Edward G. and Willie M. (Gammons) McDonald.

Mr. McDonald attended Oklahoma A. & M. in Stillwater. L.E. served in the U.S. Navy in WW II. He married Patsy Ann Logan on July 3, 1950 in Poteau, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on October 15, 2009. Mr. McDonald worked locally for Broce Construction Company for many years.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dodge City.

L.E. is survived by one brother, Walter McDonald of Eufaula, Oklahoma and one sister, Alline Hamlin of Poteau, Oklahoma. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Junior, Burel, Hershel, and Kenneth.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Rick Cope presiding. Entombment will follow at Scroggins Memorial Mausoleum in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 12:00 - 8:00 PM.
