Dodge City - Lawrence Torrez, 54, died December 1, 2022 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on February 4, 1968 at Dodge City, Kansas the son of David and Mary Ann (Torrez) Timion.

He worked as a journeyman electrician for Davis Electric in Wichita before moving back to Dodge City. Lawrence worked as a counselor for New Chance of Dodge City for the last 15 years. He loved helping people who would help themselves. Lawrence also loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed working on cars in his spare time.

He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.

He is survived by his parents David and Mary Ann Timion of Dodge City; one brother Adrian Torrez of Dodge City; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his best friend Nancy Vazquez of Wichita.

He was preceded in death by his father Manuel Blea Jr. and one brother Justin Timion.

Rosary will be held at 9:00 AM Friday, December 9, 2022 at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday December  9, 2022 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in care of the funeral home.
