Obituary

Dodge City - Lazaro Enriquez, 62, passed away on December 28, 2025 in Aurora, Colorado. He was born on March 19, 1963 in Gran Morelos, Chihuahua, Mexico; the son of Isidro Enriquez Muñoz and Elisa Peña Perez.

He worked in construction for 35 years. He enjoyed going to the casino. Lazaro was a grill master; he loved grilling and having cookouts. He loved to be around his family, it’s something he expressed a lot; how important family was and to be close to them. He had nicknames for all of his nieces and nephews. He loved doing mechanic work and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His favorite thing to do was going to his ranch in Mexico and tending to his cows. Lazaro also loved attending mass. He had become very close with God in recent months.

He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.

He is survived by his son, Lazaro Enriquez, II; siblings, Hortencia, Ramona, Leonor, Jaime, Jose Luis, and Elizabeth Enriquez; as well as many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isidro Enriquez Muñoz and Elisa Peña Perez.

Funeral service will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 10:00 AM with Father Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 5, 2026 from noon to 5:00PM with a vigil at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe at 7:00PM. Dodge City - Lazaro Enriquez, de 62 años, falleció el 28 de diciembre de 2025 en Aurora, Colorado. Nació el 19 de marzo de 1963 en Gran Morelos, Chihuahua, México; hijo de Isidro Enriquez Muñoz y Elisa Peña Perez.

Trabajó en la construcción durante 35 años. Le gustaba ir al casino. Lazaro era un experto en la parrilla; le encantaba hacer carne asada. Le encantaba estar con su familia. Expresaba con frecuencia lo importante que era la familia para él y lo mucho que valoraba estar cerca de ellos.Tenía apodos para todos sus sobrinos y sobrinas. Le encantaba la mecánica y siempre estaba dispuesto a ayudar. Su pasatiempo favorito era ir a su rancho en México y cuidar de sus vacas. A Lazaro también le gustaba asistir a misa. En los últimos meses se había acercado mucho a Dios.

Era miembro de la Catedral de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de Dodge City.

Le sobreviven su hijo, Lazaro Enriquez II; sus hermanos, Hortencia, Ramona, Leonor, Jaime, Jose Luis y Elizabeth Enriquez; así como muchos otros familiares. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Isidro Enriquez Muñoz y Elisa Peña Perez.

El servicio fúnebre se llevará a cabo en la Catedral de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe el martes 6 de enero de 2026 a las 10:00 a. m., oficiado por el Padre Wesley Schawe. El sepelio se realizará posteriormente en el Cementerio Maple Grove en Dodge City. El velorio se llevará a cabo en la Funeraria Swaim el lunes 5 de enero de 2026 de 12:00 p. m. a 5:00 p. m., con una vigilia en la Catedral de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe a las 7:00 p. m.
