Dodge City - Leandro Huizar-De Los Santos, 76, died February 13, 2025 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on February 27, 1948 in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico, the son of Juan Huizar-Ceballos and Soledad De Los Santos- Alderete.

In June of 1970, he married Luz E. Rojas.  The couple moved from Juarez to Kansas in 1989. He worked many years at Dodge City Community College.  After his retirement, Leandro loved to fish, enjoyed working on classic cars, cooking, and spending quality time with his family and friends. Most of all, Leandro was loved by many.

He's survived by his loving wife, Luz Elena Rojas-Huizar of Dodge City; daughter, Araceli Huizar of Dodge City; son, Oswaldo Huizar of Dodge City; daughter, Luz Marboeuf of Dodge City; son, Pedro Huizar of Dodge City; son, Jesus Huizar of Vancouver, Washington; nine grandchildren, Sulema Marboeuf of Wichita, Bonny Castillo of Manhattan, Esteban Marboeuf of Dodge City, Nallely Huizar of Dodge City, Alan Castillo of Dodge City, Abram Huizar of Dodge City, Precious Huizar of Vancouver, Washington, Leandro Sky Huizar of Vancouver, Washington, and  Pedro Pablo Huizar of Dodge City; siblings, Esther Garcia, Aron Salazar De Los Santos, Hortencia Salazar De Los Santos,Oscar Salazar De Los Santos, Sergio Salazar De Los Santos, Maria Del Jesus McKinnon, Cecilio Salazar De Los Santos, and Rita Julieta Quezada; and many nieces and nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents

Celebration of Life Service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 10:00 AM with Aurelia Turrubiates presiding. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from noon to 6:00 PM. En junio de 1970, se casó con Luz E. Rojas. La pareja se mudó de Juárez a Kansas en 1989. Trabajó muchos años en Dodge City Community College. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres.

El servicio de celebración de vida se llevará a cabo en Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, el jueves 27 de febrero de 2025 a las 10:00 a. m. con Aurelia Turrubiates presidiendo. El entierro se realizará en el cementerio Maple Grove. El velatorio será en Swaim Funeral Chapel el miércoles 26 de febrero de 2025 desde el mediodía hasta las 6:00 p. m.
