DODGE CITY - Lena Christine "Me-Jah-Be" Gross, 46, died October 24, 2012 at her home in Dodge City. She was born on March 30, 1966 at Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Arthur and Victoria (Knight) Scavezze.

Lena graduated from Ponca City High School. She then attended Butler County Community College where she received her nursing degree. On June 28, 2001 she married Kirk Gross at Wichita. After their marriage they moved to Dodge City. Lena was an employee at the Dodge City Medical Center. She was active in Native American culture functions.

Lena is survived by two daughters, Devin Scavezze and Eryn Gross both of the home; her mother, Victoria Scavezze of Ponca City; two brothers, Tony & Jeff Scavezze both of Ponca City; and one sister, Terri
Pettay-Tennyson of Aurora, Illinois.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Additional funeral services will be held at Trout Funeral Home, Ponca City, Oklahoma on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Ponca Indian Cemetery, Ponca City, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held at Trout Funeral Home, Ponca City, Oklahoma on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from noon to 5:00. Memorials are suggested to Lena Gross Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
