Obituary

Montezuma - Lenora Giesbrecht Ensz was born on August 31, 1927 to John and Ida Unruh Giesbrecht in Montezuma Kansas. She peacefully passed away on April 18, 2019 in Bethel Home, Montezuma, KS, surrounded by her loving family.

Mom spent her most of her childhood years around Montezuma, other than a few years in Stonington, Colorado. During those years she received her elementary education in the local country schools. Going through the depression years were difficult, but she enjoyed a happy childhood with her ten siblings. On October 13, 1940 when Mom was 13,she gave her heart to Jesus and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, by Minister Harry Wenger. She faithfully kept her vows to God and the Church and cheerfully lived her Christian life to the very end.

On June 6, 1948, Dad and Mom joined hands in marriage and were blessed with 65years together.  They began their new home in the Inman, KS area. Two sons and four daughters made Mom's life complete. Their second child, Carol, filled a special place in the home and was cared for lovingly by Mom for 18 years, until being placed in a care home. In 1956, they moved to Georgia to operate a dairy farm. Mom was always there to support Dad in whatever he was involved in, whether it was dairy farming or small engine repair. She was an inspiring example to all of us, praying often for her children and grandchildren.

Mom's hands were always busy for others. She loved having Sunday dinner company and cooking for her family.  We fondly remember her delicious pies and zwieback. Mom loved working in her garden and flowers and especially enjoyed picking vegetables and strawberries. She was an inspiring example to all of us,

Her final years were spent in Bethel Home, where she loved and was loved by all. We, as a family, appreciate the tender care shown to Mom during her time there.
