Leola M. Kelley, 84, died April 6, 2011 at Prospect Park Living Center in Estes Park, Colorado . She was born on December 11, 1926 at Blanket, Texas the daughter of Raymond A. and Velma L. (Woods) Turner.
On August 22, 1944 she married Palmer Kelley at Ranger, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 14, 2006.
In 1950, they moved to Dodge City, where she worked in civil service for five years. She also worked for Broce Construction in Dodge City as a bookkeeper. She later kept books for her husband Palmer who was an owner and distributor for Steffens Dairy.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dodge City.
Survivors include one son Barry and wife Joan Kelley of Albert Lea, Minnesota; two daughters Susan and husband Robert Clarke of Glen Haven, Colorado; Donna and husband Rodney Manis of Reeds Spring, Missouri; one brother Rev. Jimmy Allen Turner of Azle, Texas; and six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister Chrystell, one son Tracy Lyn Kelley, and one brother Raymond Donald Turner.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Dr. Gary Winget presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, April 8 from 1:00 PM til 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church, Dodge City in care of the funeral home.
