Obituary

CIMARRON - Leonard Wallace Myers, 64, died October 1, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City. He was born on December 8, 1950 in Garden City, the son of Wallace and Marie Louise (Colby) Myers.

Leonard grew up on the family farm near Kalvesta. He was a 1969 graduate of Garden City High School. Leonard worked for area farmers prior to working at Ingalls Feedyard for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. Leonard was a historical buff and traveled to many historical places around the United States.

He was a member of the Cimarron Church of the Nazarene and the coffee club at Richie's Cafe in Cimarron.

Leonard is survived by one brother, Calvin Myers and wife Diana of Kalvesta; one sister, Carolyn Woltje and husband Samuel of Baldwin City; seven nieces and nephews, Angie Hale of Garden City, Leslie Overall of Cherryvale, Chad Myers of Wichita, Rylee Myers of Kalvesta, Laura Bone of Dodge City, Larry Woltje of Topeka, and Andrea Bernard of Overland Park; and numerous great nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents and one niece, Amy Hiebert.

Funeral service will be held at Cimarron Church of the Nazarene on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Tom Boese presiding. Burial will follow at Cimarron Cemetery. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Cimarron on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from noon to 6:00 P.M. Memorials are suggested to Leonard Myers Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
