Jetmore - Leonard Lee "The Cowboy" Looney, 74, died May 8, 2025 at Hodgeman County Health Center in Jetmore, Kansas. He was born on November 8, 1950 at Eugene, Oregon the son of Leonard and Annabelle (Killingsworth) Looney.

He married La Donna Kraft on September 18, 1971 she preceded him in death on March 23, 1993. He later married Barbara Brown on November 3, 2001 she preceded him in death on September 9, 2023. He was a farmer and loved raising and caring for horses. He enjoyed roping in his spare time and attending rodeos as well. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a cook and welder.    .

He is survived by his daughter Michelle Woods and husband Kenneth of Hanston, Kansas; three sisters Rose Ann Poeverlein of Thayer, Kansas; Brenda Rowley of Wichita, Kansas and Vicki Rowe of Ellinwood, Kansas. He is also survived by her four grandchildren Sierra Woods, Skyler Woods, Summer Woods, Shayden Woods and two great grandchildren Cooper and Stetson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Jim Looney and Randy Looney.

Graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery on Tuesday May 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Stanley Palmer presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Leonard Lee Woods Memorial Fund  in care of the funeral home.
