Satanta - Leonor Padilla, 87, died March 6, 2022 at her home in Satanta, surrounded by her family.  She was born on December 23, 1934 in Múzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico to Miguel De Leon and Virginia Coronado.

Leonor spent her childhood in Mexico.  On March 25, 1956, she was united in marriage to Reyes Padilla.  In 1972, the couple moved to Satanta.  Leonor was able to stay at home to care for her husband and children.  She faithfully read her Bible everyday.  Leonor loved to cook for her family and also enjoyed sewing. Before moving to the United States, Leonor often made wreaths for funerals in Mexico.

She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Satanta.

Leonor is survived by her husband Reyes Padilla of the home; one son, Guillermo Padilla of Satanta; two daughters, Rosalinda Castilleja of Satanta and Berta Valdez of Odessa, Texas; two brothers, Thomas De Leon of Mexico and Raymond De Leon of Del Rio, Texas; three sisters, Maria Sanchez, Tina Flores, and Madina Morales all of Del Rio, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Sublette on Tuesday, March  8, 2022 from noon to 5:00 PM.  Vigil service will be at 7:00 PM on Tuesday at St. Alphonsus  Catholic Church in Satanta.  Funeral Mass will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Wednesday, March  9, 2022 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Juan Salas presiding.  Burial will follow at Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta.  Memorials are suggested to the church in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
