WICHITA - Linda Lou Denton, 73, died July 6, 2016 at her home in Wichita. She was born on April 13, 1943 at Larned, the daughter of Glenn William and Mary Irene (McKinney) Hendershot.

Linda grew up in Burdett and graduated from Burdett High School. She attended Dodge City Community College nursing school. Linda worked at Trinity Hospital and Western Plains Medical Complex for over 34 years. She finished her career in Wichita at Preferred Health Systems for the past 18 years.

She was an avid Wichita State Basketball fan, enjoyed gardening, dancing and many social activities.

Linda is survived by her son, Lance Denton and wife Mary Kate of Wichita; three granddaughters, Bonnie, Bailey, and Carly Walker; and one sister, Lois Ann Coover of Kinsley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin L. Denton; and infant daughter, Wendy Lea Denton.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday July 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jerre Nolte presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Sunday, July 10, 2016 from Noon to 6:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Victory in the Valley of Wichita in care of the funeral home.
