LOETA ANN " TERI " THOMAS

Dodge City - Loeta Ann "Teri " Thomas, 77, died August 5, 2013 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City. She was born on August 26, 1935 at Rolla, Kansas, the daughter of Eli and Bertha Nusser Mangels.

She married Robert G. "Bob" Thomas on January 19, 1959 at Jetmore. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2011 at Dodge City. Teri worked early in her life as a cosmetologist for area hair salons. She later worked as a cook for USD 443 in Dodge City, and also at the Kansas Soldiers Home at Fort Dodge. Late in her life she enjoyed working as a nanny for her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and attending garage sales, and caring for her pets.

Survivors include two sons, Kenny Thomas and wife Donna, Dodge City, Gary Thomas and wife Gina, Wichita, son in law Kent Roetzer and wife Chris, Dodge City, seven grandchilden, Gayla Hewes and husband Brad, Dodge City, Junior Thomas, Fort Riley, Kansas; Kylie and Shelbi Thomas, Wichita, John, Brad, and Trey Roetzer, all of Dodge City, and one great grandchild, Paisley Roetzer, Dodge City. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, and one daughter Patricia "Trish" Roetzer.

Graveside service will be held at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, Fort Dodge, on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Burial will follow at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery . Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from Noon to 8:00 P.M.. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
