LOLA J. MEYER

Dodge City - Lola Jean Meyer, 67, died September 14, 2012 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita . She was born on September 7, 1945 at Wheeling, West Virginia, the daughter of Albert T. and birth mother Anna Clara (Klug) Rine.

Lola had been a Dodge City resident for over thirty years. She married Ronald Meyer in Dodge City on May 27, 2006. He survives. She was employed as a registered nurse for 24 years with Family Practice Associates in Dodge City, and for the last few years, has worked at the Family Care Clinic, Dodge City. Lola loved singing in her former church choir, playing the piano, camping, gardening, traveling, and attending all her grandchildrens school programs, sporting activities, and especially spending time with them and her family.

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and the Altar Society, Dodge City.

Mrs. Meyer is survived by her husband, Ronald Meyer of Dodge City; one daughter. Heather Estrada and husband Carlos of Dodge City; one son, Christopher Schmalz and wife Teresa of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two brothers, Richard Rine and wife Pat of Wheeling, West Virginia and Tom Rine and wife Margaret of Roanoke, Virginia; her mother, Clara Rine of Wheeling, West Virginia; one sister-in-law, Mary Lou Rine of Wheeling, West Virginia; one stepson Chris and wife Valisa Meyer, Dodge City, two stepdaughters, Jan and husband Thomas Falcon, Dodge City, and Kelly and husband Dan Starns, Goddard, Kansas, grandchildren, Zachary, Alexis & Avery Estrada, Kimberly and Logan Schmalz, and Zachery Phillips; greatgrandchildren Talon, Hayden, Breckyn and Aubrey, and step-grandchildren, Morgan, Matt & Michael Falcon, Stevi Makripodis, Courteney McEuen, and Austin Smalts.She was preceded in death by one brother, William Rine and one sister Mary Ruth Teufel, and one great granddaughter Jocelyn Stevens.

Vigil services will be 7:00 P.M. Monday, September 17, 2012 at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Ted Skalsky presiding. Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will be at a later time. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, September 17, 2012 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital, or March Of Dimes, in care of Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, Kansas.
