DODGE CITY - Loma L. Harmon, 88, died Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home in Dodge City. She was born on August 6, 1922 at Protection, Kansas the daughter of John and Laura (Barnes) Morton.

Loma graduated from high school in 1940 and moved to Dodge City where she attended business school. She worked for the Dodge City Globe before moving to Denver, Colorado in 1944. On July 29, 1951 she married Joe Harmon at the First Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas. Joe preceded her in death on April 15, 2003. Joe and Loma operated a grocery store in Protection for eight years before moving to Dodge City where they owned Harmon Rentals and Real Estate.

She was a member of Grace Community Church of Dodge City.

Survivors include a sister Rohena French of Texas and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Kirk Larson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Sunday, August 15, 2010 from Noon to 6:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
