DODGE CITY - Lorene Gail Kulbiski, 89 , died May 9, 2013 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City. She was born on August 23, 1923 at Augusta the daughter of Alvin and Iva (McKitrick) Stapelton.

Lorene was a 1941 graduate of Cherokee High School in Cherokee, Oklahoma. She then graduated from Northwestern State in Alva, Oklahoma. On August 22, 1944 she married Alexander Kulbiski. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1971. Mrs. Kulbiski moved to Dodge City in 1945. She taught school in rural Hodgeman County, Wilroads Gardens and then Spearville until retirement in 1988.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Salvation Army Auxiliary all of Dodge City, Retired Teachers Association and Natural History Club.

Lorene is survived by three sons, Kenneth Kulbiski and wife Connie of Dodge City, Joe Kulbiski and wife Janet of Manhattan, and Kelly Kulbiski and wife Gwen of Dodge City; a daughter, Gail Fergerson and husband George of Dodge City; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and sister, Patty Phillips of Wichita. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Lance Carrithers presiding. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or Salvation Army both in care of the funeral home.
