LORRAINE COMBS

DODGE CITY- Lorraine Combs, 85, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City. She was born on August 31, 1924 in Dodge City, the daughter of Orville W and Myrtle Marie (Hockett) Allen.

Lorraine was a resident of Dodge City most of her life. She married Robert Combs. He preceded her in death on September 15, 1987. Lorraine was employed as a switchboard operator by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.

She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter of Dodge City.

Lorraine is survived by four daughters, Connie Love and husband Jack of Wichita, Linda Hoot and husband Craig of Cocoa, Florida, Karen Grim and husband John of Enid, Oklahoma, and Kathie Simmons and husband Allen of Dodge City; one son, Danny Combs and wife Cathy Jo of Dodge City. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by her parents and three grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Monday, November 30, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. A private burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City at a later date. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Sunday, November 29, 2009 from noon until 6:00 PM.
