Fort Dodge - Louella "Jo" Josephine Walter, 96, died May 26, 2011 at Halsey Hall in Fort Dodge. She was born on October 12, 1914 at Larned the daughter of Joseph and Rebecca (Lightcap) Fagen.

She married Harry "Woody" E. Walter on August 28, 1943 in Dodge City. He survives. They then moved to Ohio until 1945. They came back to Kansas in 1952.

Mrs. Walter was a member of the Cosmetology Association.

Mrs. Walter is survived by her husband, Harry E. "Woody" Walter of the home; one daughter, Dixie Daubert and husband Wayne of Spearville; one son, Stan Walter and wife Jacki of Hartford, Connecticut; 5 grandchildren, Tammy Daubert of Wichita, Melissa Daubert of Topeka, Jennifer Fisher and husband Troy of Spearville, Ryan Daubert and wife Nikki of Wakeeney and Stanley Walter, Jr. of Connecticut and 5 great grandchildren. "Jo" was preceded in death by three brothers, Dewey Fagen, Clyde Fagen, and Alfred Fagen and one sister, Mildred Dovel.

Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Monday, May 30, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Mr. Barney Korbelik presiding. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Federated Church of Spearville in care of the funeral home.
