Satanta - Chloe Loveyla Wilson, 88, died September 23, 2014 at Via Christie St. Joseph Campus, Wichita. She was born on February 3, 1926 at her grandfather's hotel in Hugoton, the daughter of John Arthur and Georgia (Bundy) St. Clair.
The family moved to Boise City, Oklahoma and Loveyla attended grade school there. During the Depression, the family then moved to Liberal where she graduated from Liberal High School in 1944. On June 20, 1946, she married Leon Wilson in Liberal. He survives. Loveyla was a homemaker and enjoyed any type of crafts, including crocheting and embroidery. She was most remembered for her pheasant feather hats.
She was a member of the Pleasant Prairie Church of God, Satanta and the EHU clubs of Satanta and Liberal.
Loveyla is survived by her husband, Leon Wilson of Satanta, two daughters, Diana Naylor of Dodge City and Kathleen Gleeson of Jamestown, North Carolina; two sons, Andrew Wilson of Belton, Texas and Michael Wilson of Pleasant View, Tennessee; one brother, Robert St. Clair of Beaverton, Oregon; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, William David Wilson; two brothers, George and John St. Clair; an three sisters, Billie St. Clair, Shirley St. Clair, and Lydia Branson.
Funeral service will be held at Pleasant Prairie Church of God, Satanta on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastors Lloyd Bowman and Danny Jackson presiding. Burial will follow at Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Sublette on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 6-8 PM.
